Camp Amalinda is set in the majestic Matobo Hills amongst some of the most awe-inspiring granite scenery in the world. Cecil John Rhodes, founder of “Rhodesia”, now Zimbabwe, selected this area as his final resting place creating the famous ‘Worlds View”.
In amongst the Parks exceptional concentration of whale-back granite kopjies and boulders is a high volume of the ancient San Bushman cave paintings. Combine this cultural history with game viewing, birding, and a personal rhino experience.
Camp Amalinda’s thatched accommodation consists of 6 separate rooms and 3 suites. Built amidst great boulders, each room was individually designed to host the soul and ambiance of the Matobo Hills and Africa. The lounge and entertainment area has been incorporated into a bushman’s shelter with a panoramic view of the Matobo hills. A massive teak “Captains Table” is the centre piece of the open-air dining room where delicious meals are served.
The cosy, restful library contains many of the old African classics. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the secluded treetop chess room after selecting a bottle of wine from the natural cave wine cellar. After a hot day recline in our renowned ‘rock’ swimming pool at the base of the camp, created by natural erosive elements of a massive granite dome.
