Rukomechi Camp is situated in the middle reaches of the Zambezi River. This places the camp a hundred kilometres below Lake Kariba in the remarkable Mana Pools National Park found in the heart of the Zambezi Valley.
Ruckomechi Camp lies on the banks of the Zambezi River under the shade of a large grove of beautiful acacia and mahogany trees. With a superb view of the mountains of Africa’s Great Rift Valley across the river in Zambia, this camp is a beauty.
Rukomechi Camp’s accommodation incorporates ten spacious en-suite tented units, including a honeymoon suite, all offering a view overlooking the Zambezi River. Each tent features both an indoor and outdoor shower. The favourite feature amongst our guests is the outdoor ‘bath-with-a-view’. Set in a secluded, scenic spot, enjoy bathing with unhindered views.
Rukomechi Camp’s central dining area, bar, library and lounge areas face the escarpment. These are connected to the rest of the camp by low-level walkways that minimise the environmental impact of the camp. Enjoy the separate deck with infinity swimming pool with an inviting, cushion-strewn star gazing deck.
Activities on offer at Ruckomechi Camp include wildlife viewing in open 4×4 vehicles as well as motorised pontoon boats. For the more back to nature experience, take a game walk on foot or in our canoes.
