Victoria Falls, Zambezi River, Africa


Day 1: Victoria Falls

Your Kariba houseboat package will start with your arrival at Victoria Falls Airport. You will be met and transferred to your accommodation, where you will spend the next two nights.

The afternoons will be spent at your leisure. For dinner, we invite you to the famous Boma Restaurant to experience an African feast.

Overnight: Ilala Lodge or similar (Rooms with private bathroom, pool, restaurant, and bar area)

Meals: Dinner


Day 2: Victoria Falls

Today you can use the time to participate in the various optional activities available or simply explore the wonderful town of Victoria Falls. End your day with a spectacular sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.

Overnight: Ilala Lodge or similar

Luxury Kariba Houseboat Package

Days 3, 4 & 5: Victoria Falls

After breakfast, a road transfer will take you to Binga, from where you will embark on a 3-night houseboat adventure and a truly unique experience.

The fully equipped luxury houseboat will take you on a cruising journey on Lake Kariba, while you relax and enjoy some activities such as game viewing, fishing, and bird watching.

Day 6: Hwange

After breakfast, a road transfer will take you to Elephant’s Eye, Hwange Eco-Lodge, which is situated 13 km from the main camp of Hwange National Park.

The afternoon is at your leisure, beside the swimming pool, having sundowners on the viewing deck, or participating in some of the optional activities on offer.

Overnight: Elephant’s Eye, Hwange (Chalets with open-plan bathroom, double basins and outdoor shower, private veranda, fireplace, pool, restaurant and bar area, and viewing deck)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


Day 7: Hwange National Park

Today is spent on a game drive in the expansive Hwange National Park, the largest national park in Zimbabwe, covering an area of approximately 14 650 km2. Named after a local chief, Hwange is situated in the northwest corner of the country about one hour south of Victoria Falls.

Because of its close proximity to the Falls, Hwange boasts an incredible biodiversity of flora and fauna and a plethora of African wildlife. There are over 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 bird species recorded here.

Specifically, the elephant population in Hwange is considered world famous, as it is one of the largest in the world.

Day 8: Hwange

At dawn, you will embark on a game drive to continue your search for the magnificent African wildlife in this area.

After lunch and a siesta, you will have the option of going on an afternoon game drive, or visit a traditional homestead where the locals will welcome you into their home, and you may experience their lifestyle.

Overnight: Elephant’s Eye, Hwange

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


Day 9: Departure

Enjoy your last breakfast at the lodge before your 2½ hour drive back to Victoria Falls Airport, where you embark on your onward journey.

ACTIVITY INFORMATION

Ra-Ikane Cruise

The Ra-Ikane boat was named after one of David Livingstone’s guides who led him to the Victoria Falls.

The boat is handmade and luxuriously finished with a teak superstructure, brass fittings, and club chairs, providing guests with a taste of Victorian splendour in the heart of Africa. The boat also has a bar and toilet on board.

The cruise is on the Zambezi River, and you will definitely experience a spectacular sunset, natural beauty, and many animal sightings. To ensure all guests are satisfied, the boat is staffed with a boat captain, guide, hostess, and a waiter.

Ilala Lodge

Ilala Lodge is the closest hotel to Victoria Falls, with the National Park bordering the front lawns of this elegant boutique-style property. Spacious rooms lead out to either a balcony or the manicured gardens, offering a view of the spray from the mighty Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls).

Lady Jacqueline Houseboat

Lady Jacqueline is a beautiful cruiser, fully equipped and furnished with a superb location in Binga on the stunning Lake Kariba.

This luxury vessel can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests at one time and hosts a bar, dining area, and Jacuzzi. The saloon is fully air-conditioned and contains a DVD home theatre, television, CD player, reading material, games, and much more.

Accommodation consists of two double cabins, which are en-suite with a shower, toilet, and hand basin, one twin bunk cabin, and lastly a cabin with 2 sets of bunk beds that share a bathroom with a shower, toilet, and hand basin.

Mattresses and mosquito nets can also be provided if you wish to sleep on the deck under the amazing, starry night sky.

Elephant’s Eye, Hwange

Elephant’s Eye, Hwange is located on a 2500 hectare private concession, a mere 13 km away from the entrance to Hwange National Park.
