Day 1 – 3: Victoria Falls – The Victoria Falls Hotel 5*

On arrival at Victoria Falls airport, you will be met by a representative of Silver Tours who will transfer you to The Victoria Falls Hotel where you will spend the first two nights of your safari on Bed & Breakfast basis.

Victoria Falls Hotel

The 5 star Victoria Falls Hotel is a superb Edwardian establishment on the edge of the Batoka Gorge overlooking the Victoria Falls railway bridge. It is situated in Victoria Falls Town within walking distance of all the craft markets, shops, and the falls themselves. Upon arrival, you get a sense that you’ve stepped back in time.

The rooms are very stylish and decorated with an old English theme. They have beautiful four-poster and canopied beds, colonial prints on the walls, antique furniture as well as quite a few modern amenities such as satellite TV’s, air-conditioning, mini-bars, bathrobes, tea/coffee making stations, telephones, hairdryers, and even umbrellas for those rain forest and falls visits (where you can get very very wet!) The Suites and the Deluxe Rooms can be found in the original section of the hotel and have some of the most amazing views of the gorge and the historical bridge. They have all the conveniences of the standard rooms but offer even more luxury, space, and extras.

Evening 1 – dinner has been booked for you at a restaurant of your choice within the Victoria Falls Hotel. Please confirm on arrival with reception which restaurant & what time you want your table for. Drinks are for your own account.


Day 2: This morning Silver Tours will collect you outside the reception for your guided tour of Victoria Falls – please note you will be required to pay park entrance fees of U$30 per/person on arrival to the actual Falls.

In the afternoon you will be collected by Zambezi Wilderness Safaris outside the reception area of Victoria Falls Hotel for a luxury sunset cruise on the Ra-Ikane, sipping Gin & Tonics as the sun sets on the mighty Zambezi.

Tonight Silver Tours will collect you from Victoria Falls Hotel in time for the Boma Dinner – booked for you at the Boma restaurant which offers a unique blend of traditional foods & entertainment. You will be collected by the Boma restaurant & transferred to the Boma for dinner – drinks for your own account.


Day 3: After breakfast, you will be collected by Silver Tours for a road transfer to Hwange Main Camp, where you will be met by a Little Makololo Game Drive Vehicle for a game drive /transfer through the national park to the camp.


Day 3 – 5: Little Makololo Camp – Classic Wilderness Camp

Little Makololo is situated on a private concession in the south-eastern section of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. Accommodation consists of 6 tents comprising 4 twin-bedded tents, 1 double tent, and 1 family tent with 2 adjoining rooms sharing a bathroom. Luxury tents on the ground have en-suite bathrooms, outside shower, wooden doors, fans in all guest tents, veranda with two chairs and shampoos, body shower gel, body lotion, guest soap, sunscreen, room spray, shower cap, accessory kit, insect repellents spray/cream, mosquito coil, rechargeable torch, umbrella and robes are supplied in each tent.

There are two tents in the main living area, one houses the dining room and the other the lounge and bar, Plunge pool, Outside bush shower, and Waterhole and “log pile” hide in front of camp.

Game seen in the area include: Lion, large herds of elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino, hyaena, giraffe, sable, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, and reedbuck are all found on the concession. The highlight here is the large open plains where one can see large quantities of animals. Summer game viewing is excellent with wildebeest, zebra, and eland found in abundance on the plains. In winter the waterholes are magnets for elephant and sometimes, up to 1 000 elephants come down to drink at each waterhole.

Activities in the concession include – Game drives in 3 x 7 seater Land Rovers (3 window seats, 2 middle seats). Wind-resistant ponchos are provided during winter months, Walking safaris, Hides in the area and wood pile in front of the camp, and evening drives with red filtered spotlight for nocturnal animals.

Day 6: Little Makololo Camp – Victoria Falls Airport

After coffee, rusks & cereals you will leave camp for your transfer/game drive through the park back to Main Camp, where you will meet Silver Tours for your transfer to Victoria Falls airport for your onward journey.

  • Return airport transfers (Vic Falls airport)
  • Boma dinner & transfers
  • Victoria Falls Hotel – 3 course al-a-carte – no drinks
  • Ra-Ikane sunset cruise with drinks, snacks & high tea
  • Guided tour of the Falls – excludes entry
  • All drinks are included in the nightly tariff at Little Makololo, except for imported champagne and wine (which must be ordered prior to arrival) and hard-to-obtain drinks such as Bourbon etc.
  • Daily service laundry at Little Makololo weather permitting, included in the nightly tariff.
